Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Kartika Wirjoatmodjo assessed that the construction of the PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri)-IIIB plant will save gas costs spent by PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) of IDR 1.1 trillion per year.

 

Tiko, Kartika's nickname, explained that he was built with energy-efficient technology or low energy.

 

So, said Tiko, it can reduce the consumption of gas raw materials by 13 MMBTUs per ton.

 

According to him, the percentage is lower or 38 percent compared to the Pusri III and IV factories.

 

"Saving is equivalent to IDR 1.1 trillion per year from gas costs at a maximum capacity of 907,500 tons per year," he said, signing the Funding Credit Agreement and Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) for the Pusri-IIIB Project at The Langham Hotel, South Jakarta, Friday, October 13.

 

Not only that, Tiko said, the energy efficiency is expected to be a value creation, where Pupuk Indonesia can increase the competitiveness of products and management of the fertilizer industry.

 

"So that it affects the company's performance to be better to become one of the global players in chemical and fertility industry," he said.

 

Currently, the company, through its subsidiary PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (Pusri), has received an investment credit value of IDR 9.317 trillion. The funding was obtained through a syndicated mechanism with a number of domestic banks.

 

The banks in question include PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI), PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI). Then, PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN), PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI), Bank Jabar Banten (BJB), and Bank Sumsel Babel (BSB).

 

For your information, the Pusri-IIIB plant has an ammonia production capacity of 445,500 tons per year and 907,500 tons urea fertilizer per year.

 

In terms of energy use, the Pusri-IIIB Factory uses low energy technology with an energy consumption ratio for urea production of 22 MMBTU per ton and 32.89 MMBTU ammonia per ton.
